New Crime Prevention Committee formed in V. Felidhoo

In the joint campaign by the public and the Police, the newest Crime Prevention Committee has been formed in V. Felidhoo. On the night of the 18th of this month in V. Felidhoo Island Office, the Committee was inaugurated in a ceremony by V. Felidhoo Police Station In-Charge Sergeant Aminath Nishana. The ceremony was attended by V. Felidhoo Island Chief Mr. Abdullah Moosa, members of the women’s committee, R.K. committee and local associations.

In the ceremony, the Committee which includes 12 members who are locals that are involved in various fields of work chose Mr. Ibrahim Sobah of Chan’beyleege in V. Felidhoo as their President. Miss Nadhira Abdul Azeez of Zamaanee Villa in V. Felidhoo was chosen as Vice-President.

In the ceremony, opportunity was given to the members of the newly formed Committee to share ideas on crime prevention and this lead to agreement on working to reduce crime in the island and holding programs to improve discipline in school children and also crime prevention awareness programs.
