On the 22 May 2011, an abandoned newborn baby was found dead in the park outside Hulhumale’ 13 flat while another baby was found dead near the water supply building in Villimale’ two days before the prior mentioned incident. Inspector of Police Abdulla Nawaz of the Serious and Organized Crime Department spoke at a press briefing held yesterday for the local media highlighting that the reported cases of infant killings has increased in the past six months.
