03 Nov
In commemoration of the Maldives’ proud Victory Day, Hulhumalé Police conducted a series of special activities, including a ceremony titled “Flag Waving in Honor of Martyrs” and the opening of an exhibition called “The Tale of Victory” (Nasr ge Fasaanaa).
Organized by Hulhumalé Police to remember the heroes who were martyred for the nation during the November 3rd attack on the Maldives and to honor their sacrifices, the “Flag Waving in Honor of Martyrs” ceremony included a moment of silence in memory of the fallen heroes, flag waving in their honor, a special prayer for the martyrs, and the playing of the National Anthem.

A large number of students from Hulhumalé schools, along with parents, teachers, school management officials, and members of the public, participated in the ceremony. The main objective of these activities was to revive the memory of the sacrifices made by the heroes who defended the nation during the November 3rd, 1988, attack on the Maldives, to remember the events of that day, and to convey the significance of that day to the younger generation.
Following the “Flag Waving in Honor of Martyrs” ceremony, “The Tale of Victory” exhibition was opened. The exhibition narrates the events of the November 3rd, 1988, attack on the Maldives, depicting the course of the battle through photographs and written accounts. After its opening, the exhibition was made accessible to the public.

Students, teachers, and honored guests who attended the “Flag Waving in Honor of Martyrs” ceremony also visited “The Tale of Victory” exhibition to learn more about the historic day. Police officers engaged with students from visiting schools, answering their questions about Victory Day and clarifying historical details.
“The Tale of Victory” exhibition will remain open until the night of Thursday, November 6th. Schools, offices, and other interested parties are welcome to visit the exhibition in the coming days.
