Commissioner of Police met with the Inspector General of Bangladesh Police during the ongoing 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco

Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen met with the Inspector General of Bangladesh Police, Baharul Alam, during the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly currently underway in Marrakech, Morocco.

 

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the crimes observed among undocumented Bangladeshi workers in the Maldives and the sharing of information to resolve these issues. Furthermore, extensive discussions took place concerning the collaboration between the police agencies of both countries to address matters involving Bangladeshi nationals within the crime environment of the Maldives.

 

In this meeting, the Commissioner of Police shared information with the Bangladeshi delegation about some of the challenges arising from expatriate workers arriving from various countries to the Maldives and the efforts initiated by the government to resolve these issues.

 

Additionally, the meeting included discussions on potential collaborations with the Bangladesh Police Academy to enhance the capabilities of the Maldivian police officers. Discussions were also held regarding sharing the experience of the Bangladesh Police with the Maldivian Police on how police operate during natural disasters and emergencies and providing cooperation for training executive officers and senior officers in that field.
