Commissioner of Police Meets Newly Appointed Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the Maldives

Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen met today with the newly appointed High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Rizvi Hassen.

 

During the courtesy call, the Commissioner conveyed deep sadness regarding the devastating impact of the recent rains and floods in Sri Lanka, along with the tragic loss of lives that ensued.

 

Heartfelt condolences were extended to the bereaved families and to the people of Sri Lanka during this difficult period.

 

The Maldives Police Service affirmed its solidarity with Sri Lanka as the nation navigates this tragedy, expressing prayers for strength, resilience, and a swift recovery for all those affected.

 

Furthermore, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Maldives Police Service and the Sri Lanka Police.

 

Both parties underscored the importance of enhancing professional collaboration, particularly through training in specialized and operational areas of the Maldives Police Service and through sharing expertise in advancing forensic science and cybercrime capabilities within the Sri Lanka Police.

 

The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the long-standing partnership between the two nations' law enforcement agencies and reaffirmed the Maldives Police Service’s commitment to expanding joint initiatives that promote policing excellence and national security.
