
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed has departed to Egypt on an official visit aimed at strengthening security cooperation and collaboration in combating transnational organised crime between the Republic of Maldives and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The visit, organised by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, is scheduled to take place from 17 to 21 May 2026. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding on security cooperation and combating transnational organised crime between the two countries is expected to be signed.
As part of the official programme, meetings will be held with the National Security Sector of Egypt. The visit will also include visits to rehabilitation and correctional facilities, as well as training institutes selected based on areas of interest identified by the Maldives Police Service.
The visit is expected to further strengthen professional cooperation and bilateral relations between the Egyptian Ministry of Interior and the Maldives Police Service, while enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest related to security and law enforcement.
