Two officers from the Maldives Police Service participated in the 8th Digital Security Challenge (DSC) / Cyber Games organized by INTERPOL in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 19 to 21 May 2026.
The Digital Security Challenge is an international cybersecurity competition that brings together law enforcement officers and cybersecurity professionals from around the world to test and enhance their skills in cybercrime investigation and digital security. Participants compete in a range of technical disciplines, including digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, open-source intelligence (OSINT), web security, cryptography, blockchain investigations, and other specialized areas of cybersecurity.
The competition begins with an online preliminary round, during which participants independently solve complex technical challenges under time constraints. The highest-performing individuals advance to the onsite finals, where they take part in realistic cybercrime investigation scenarios requiring teamwork, analytical thinking, and hands-on technical expertise across multiple cybersecurity domains.
Participation in the Cyber Games provided Maldives Police Service officers with an opportunity to strengthen their practical skills, gain exposure to emerging cyber threats and investigative techniques, and engage with international counterparts working in the field of cybercrime prevention and investigation.
The event also served as a platform for international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development, supporting global efforts to combat cyber-enabled crime and strengthen digital security capabilities.
