
Acting High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to the Maldives, Mr. Toff Wahab, paid a courtesy call on Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed yesterday.
Mr. Wahab was accompanied by Mr. Matthew Potts, National Counter Terrorism Project and Preparedness Officer from the United Kingdom's National Counter Terrorism Unit.
The meeting was held as an opportunity to reaffirm the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and the United Kingdom and to discuss ongoing cooperation between the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and its counterparts in the United Kingdom.

Discussions focused on the United Kingdom's continued support to the Maldives Police Service, particularly in the areas of training, technical assistance, capacity building, and institutional development. The meeting also explored opportunities for further collaboration aimed at strengthening professional competencies, enhancing operational preparedness, and supporting the continued development of policing services in the Maldives.
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed expressed appreciation for the strong relationship between the Maldives Police Service and its partners in the United Kingdom and acknowledged the valuable support provided towards the advancement of policing capabilities and institutional development.
