As part of the Maldives Police Service's ongoing efforts to establish dedicated police facilities across the country, newly constructed police station buildings were officially opened in B. Maalhos and AA. Feridhoo.
The inauguration ceremonies were held separately on 2 June 2026 and were officiated by the Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, and Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed.

The ceremony in B. Maalhos was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry, President of the Maalhos Council Mohamed Thariq Abdul Razzaq, Police Executive Officers, council members, and residents of the island. The ceremony in AA. Feridhoo was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry, President of the Feridhoo Council Anwar Saadhath, Police Executive Officers, council members, representatives of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and members of the public.
During both ceremonies, Minister Ali Ihusaan hoisted the National Flag while Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed hoisted the Police Flag, marking the official opening of the new facilities.
In recognition of the support and cooperation extended towards the projects, commemorative plaques were presented to MTCC and the respective island councils. The plaques were presented by Minister Ali Ihusaan.
Construction of the B. Maalhos Police Station commenced on 14 August 2025, while construction of the AA. Feridhoo Police Station commenced on 19 August 2025. Both projects were carried out by MTCC. The facilities include administrative offices and accommodation blocks for police officers, providing enhanced infrastructure to support policing services and improve operational readiness within the communities they serve.
Following the inauguration ceremonies, tree-planting activities were carried out within the compounds of both police stations.
Police services were first established in B. Maalhos on 27 January 2024. The opening of the new facilities in Maalhos and Feridhoo marks another significant milestone in the Maldives Police Service's efforts to transition policing services into purpose-built facilities and strengthen service delivery across the country.
The newly opened stations form part of a broader initiative to ensure that police services are delivered from dedicated police-owned facilities, supporting the continued modernisation of policing infrastructure and enhancing the working environment for officers while improving services provided to the public.
