
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed today met with the family of the late Sub Inspector of Police Ahmed Asif and conveyed a message of condolences from His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu following the officer’s passing while carrying out his official duties.
In his message, the President noted that the loss of Sub Inspector Ahmed Asif while serving the nation was a profound tragedy for both his family and the country. He paid tribute to Ahmed Asif’s dedication, sincerity, and commitment in the discharge of his national duties, and acknowledged the valuable service he rendered to the nation.
The President further assured the family that the Government would extend all necessary assistance and support during this difficult time.
During the meeting, the Commissioner also conveyed condolences on behalf of Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan, as well as the leadership and members of the Maldives Police Service. He assured the family of the Maldives Police Service’s continued support and assistance.
The Commissioner highlighted Ahmed Asif’s service to the nation and reaffirmed that the Maldives Police Service would continue to honour and remember his service and sacrifice with the utmost respect and gratitude.
Sub Inspector Ahmed Asif passed away on 11 June 2026 while carrying out his official duties. His dedication to service and commitment to protecting the community will remain a lasting source of pride and inspiration for the Maldives Police Service.
