Reference no: PMC/2020/06 Maldives Police Service today sought clarification from Sri Lankan authorities regarding reports circulated by certain media agencies about the arrest of 4 Maldivian nationals in Sri Lanka for terror related activities. The Sri Lankan authorities have clarified to the Maldives Police Service that no Maldivians have been arrested on the 20th of February 2020. Furthermore, Maldives Police Service have not received information from any Sri Lankan authorities regarding the involvement of any Maldivian nationals in the terrorist attack in Sri Lanka on 21st of April 2019. Maldives Police Service continues to engage closely with our partners in the international community to counter threats at a national and international level.
